Mission Statement: The Tabernacle Church exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ throughout the community of Auburn and Auburn University; encouraging them to live in the fullness of the Holy Spirit and to develop an intimate relationship with God through relational discipleship that is characterized by intimate worship, a pursuit of holiness and a vision for the advancement of the kingdom of God.
Statement of Faith: God We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing and revealed to us in three persons, the Father, creator of all things; the Son, Jesus Christ, God incarnate, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His death on a cross for the sins of mankind, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven where He is seated at the right hand of God the Father interceding on behalf of the saints and awaiting His imminent return to earth in power and Glory.
Holy Spirit We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit by: 1. The inward witness of salvation to the believer. 2. The daily guidance and the growth of Christ-like character 3. The baptism of the Holy Spirit as a reality available to all believers following new birth. 4.The supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit, which are vital to the building of the Lord’s church and are in full operation today.
Salvation We believe that all mankind was eternally separated from God through the sin of Adam and Eve. We believe the only way for man’s eternal separation from God can be restored is through repentance of his sin against God and accepting Jesus’ blood atoning sacrifice on the cross as the only way of reconciliation between man and God. Salvation through Jesus is by faith alone and, once appropriated in a person, is eternal.
Bible We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and is whole, complete and without error and is the sole standard for all our faith and practice.
Vitality of Spiritual Language We believe the biblical exercise of Holy Spirit enabled supernatural language is vital for prayer, praise, intercession and edification and is a desirable and available resource for every believer.
Tithes and Offerings We believe the Church should be supported by the tithes and offerings of those who have been redeemed into the family of God and who are committed to the building of the Lord’s kingdom on earth.
Priesthood of the Believer We believe that each believer is a priest of the Lord Jesus Christ and has direct access to God the Father through the atoning blood sacrifice of Jesus.
Water Baptism We believe that the ordinance of water baptism by immersion is vital to each as an act of obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ and is symbolic in the believer’s life of his identity in Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection.
The Lord’s Supper We believe that the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper (communion) is a representation of our redemption, a memorial to the sufferings and the death of Christ and is an act of obedience to the Lord Jesus’ request that the church would partake of communion in remembrance of Him.
Unity of Believers We believe in the spiritual unity of all born-again believers in the body of Christ.
Resurrection We believe in the resurrection of the saved and the lost; they that are saved, are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
